About Me

Colton Mitchell
My name is Colton Mitchell. I was born, raised, and still reside in Loveland, Colorado. While Colorado wildlife makes up the core of my photography, my passion has also taken me across Central and South America, Asia, and Africa. All of the animals featured in my photography are truly wild, captured in their natural habitats without the use of enclosures, baiting, or staging. I take great pride in the authenticity of my work — every image reflects a real moment of connection, patience, and respect for the wildlife I encounter. This commitment makes each photograph a genuine representation of the natural world. I named my company Unconditional Wildlife because of the unconditional love I have for both wildlife and photography.
I don’t use the phrase unconditional love lightly. Everyone admires the final result of a beautiful photograph—but what that image doesn’t show are the countless days spent searching for wildlife only to come up empty-handed, the relentless mosquito bites, the ticks found in the worst places, or the heartbreak of your cameras batteries dying just as the perfect moment arrives. But I love all of it.
I love the highs and lows. I love the rawness of what it means to be a wild animal and the hardships they face. I love the creatures that show up time and time again even the ones few people want pictures of. And I love that you can walk the same trail a thousand times, and on one unexpected day, God allows you to cross paths with something extraordinary.
Nothing on this earth brings me more joy than sharing these moments through my photography. Whether you're here to purchase a print or simply browse the gallery, thank you—from the bottom of my heart—for taking the time to be here. I hope these images bring you even a fraction of the joy I’ve felt capturing them.
